Hi! Thank you for spending time with me on WNJE.

I created this blog to share my experiences - conversations had, ideas shared, the breaking of bread with friends and family - whether it's at home, dining out or traveling. Each post I write is an appreciation of the meticulous detail that goes into making a dish or in the ingredients in a glass of wine — the time, energy and attention each is given.

Growing up, creating delicious meals and gathering together to enjoy them were some of the most memorable parts of my childhood - honing in on my cooking skills with my father, discovering my love for using food to bring people closer with my mother, and even navigating balance and moderation with my grandparents.

As a lifelong foodie, when I met my boyfriend, Giordano - a self-professed wino, it was the perfect pairing (pun intended.) His love for wine really sparked my interest in becoming more educated in all things vino, starting with going back to school (again! for fun! wine not!) to learn about viticulture and everything about wine - certification pending!

In combining my knowledge of food and newfound love of wine, pairings have become a passion of mine. As a doctor of acupuncture, Chinese herbalist and third-gen Chinese American, I’m a firm believer in the philosophy of the five senses, that tastes should be balanced from the seasons and the environment around us. Food and wine pairing really embodies this concept, the balance of Yin and Yang palpable in their flavors.

With my wine recommendations, I hope you’ll always see my fervor for quality. In my recipes, you can count on fresh ingredients and simplicity. In my pairings, I hope you’ll discover a harmonious balance.
